Tatiana Stone has worked hard to establish herself as one of Sector Four's most skilled crafters. All she wants is peace--but the sins of her father haunt her. He ruled the sector as a petty tyrant before the O'Kane takeover, and plenty of people harbor bitter memories of his cruelty. Especially now that Tatiana's beloved baby sister has fallen in with a man who wants to start a revolution.

Zan failed his boss once, and it won't happen again. So when Dallas O'Kane asks him to defuse the rebellion brewing in the sector, he'll do whatever it takes to get the job done--including seduce Tatiana. It's the perfect opportunity to get closer to the pretty crafter and complete his mission. But what he discovers is a fiery, passionate woman--and an affair that could destroy them both.

ADULTSONLY SEXY dystopian

This is a series that I’ve been hooked on since I read book one when it came out in 2012. I love the dystopian world that Kit Rocha has built. The majority of the series focuses on the gang that runs Sector Four, the O’Kanes. There are different sectors that surround Eden. Each sector is run by a gang that focuses on a different speciality (think Hunger Games, with the districts and the Capital, though that is were the the similarities end). Sector Four is known for its liquor. In this book, we get to see our first real glimpse of the lives of people outside of the gang.

If you haven’t tried this series yet, it is a world very different from the world we live in today. Electricity is not something that is stable ever since a solar flare took out most of technology. You still have some technology, but it is mostly old stuff that is being rebuilt for use in that world. There are somethings that are way better for them, medical regeneration, and med gel for healing. Many of the day-to-day items like soap, is made the old fashion ways.

Tatiana Stone is the eldest daughter of the former leader of Sector Four. She has finally gotten herself in a stable and independent place. Her shop is making her enough money to support herself. She walks a tight line, not taking any sides. She doesn’t want to upset the O’Kanes or her father’s still loyal followers, even after his death. Her little sister doesn’t see any of this and just wants to go back to being a princess of Sector Four.

Zan is recovering from a bad injury from a previous book. He knows that things are unstable in the sector. He knows that he is needed at full strength to help make the entire gang safe. He shows his amazing ability to read the needs of others when he sees how much Tatiana needs her independence, especially financially, to feel secure.

This book is extremely hot, but still, it is tame by Sector Four standards. Zan is very alpha male. And while Tatiana has a submissive attitude, she is also extremely independent. She knows the importance of being able to stand on her own feet in this world that she lives in.

I love how in this series, the O’Kanes know what is important in life. Once you become an O’Kane, you are family and you are one for life. They even tattoo cuffs on your wrists so that everyone knows you are part of the O’Kane family. They know that it isn’t just blood that makes a family. Their loyalty to each other is what I think makes this series so strong. They do what they want together and don’t worry about what others think. O’Kane for life.

If you are new to this series, don’t get scared off by the number of books. Several are novellas and all books read quickly, even the full length novels. If you enjoy audiobooks, the full length novels are available on audio and the narrator is really good. I’ve listened to the first two and own the others, and plan to listen soon, those reviews will be posted on Hot Listens.
