Best Werewolf Books of 2014

TopOf2014

Another year has come and gone which means that it’s time to participate in Two Chicks On Books, Reading YA Rocks, Magical Urban Fantasy Reads and Tales of a Ravenous Reader annual TOP 10 OF 2014 week long meme. Not only do I love lists but these posts are easy to put together and schedule during the holidays so that I can spend time with my family. Also, peeps LOVED my werewolf list in 2012 & 2013, and they continue to get hits to this day so I decided that I best bring it back! All of these books were published this year. Enjoy!

  10. Alpha Divided by Aileen Erin

ALPHA GIRL continues to be by favourite New Adult series, and Aileen Erin will be releasing not one, but TWO installments in 2015. The heroine is a shifter / witch hybrid, so there’s tons of paranormal goodness to go around. My Review
  09. Veiled Target by Robin Bielman

Samhain Publishing sure knows how to pick their authors; I have yet to read a bad book from them, and VEILED TARGET is another great example. The lore’s simple but good, and there’s plenty of steam which makes it a great pick for PNR junkies. My Review
  08. Wild Wolf by Jennifer Ashley

I jumped into Ashley’s SHIFTERS UNBOUND series at #6, and it was love at first read. Her world-building and characters were definitely the stars, but I really enjoyed this author’s approach to the romantic elements as well. My Review
  07. Daring by Elliott James

This author’s sense of humour is fantastic; I adored his protagonist, and Roger Wayne’s narration of the audiobook gave James’ first person POV writing style an extra edge. Recommended for fans of Kevin Hearne’s IRON DRUID CHRONICLES. My Review
  06. Shifting Shadows by Patricia Briggs

This is a great anthology for long time readers of Patricia Briggs’ MERCY THOMPSON and ALPHA & OMEGA series; there are a couple of shorts that are better than others, but as a whole this novel delivered in the fur department. My Review
  05. Avenger’s Heat by Katie Reus

After book 3, I was a little worried that these novels were beginning to fade, but instead Reus injected new life into her MOON SHIFTER universe with this most recent installment by shaking up the story arc, and showcasing one of my fav characters. My Review
  04. Otherworld Nights by Kelley Armstrong

It’s unusual for an anthology to outshine its corresponding series, but Kelley Armstrong has published three of these now, and they’ve all been incredible. It features the most amazeballs werewolf couple EVER, so definitely give this one a go. My Review
  03. Summer Moon by Jan DeLima

I was pleasantly surprised by this author’s debut novel last year, and this follow-up installment was even better. SUMMER MOON is borderline Fantasy Romance, features older protagonists, and incredibly rich mythology. My Review
  02. Black Rook by Kelly Meade

Meade really hit a home run with this trilogy; her wolf colours = power levels was ingenious, and she skillfully blends Urban Fantasy & Paranormal elements to create a wold that’s truly unique. Her writing is on the dark side too which was a bonus. My Review
  01. Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater

Don’t let the novella label fool you; SINNER is nearly 400 pages in length, so there’s no shortage of WOLVES OF MERCY FALLS action in book 3.5. I adore Stiefvater’s lyrical style, and this was a riveting mix of Young Adult & Contemporary Romance. My Review

Did you read any good werewolf books this year?
