He’ll risk it all to bring her home.
Morgan Carter witnessed her sister’s murder, has been turned into a werewolf and is now raising her young niece. Then her fiance, Greyson Crawford, proves he wants to be with her for the wrong reasons, and she knows her life couldn’t be any stranger. Devastated, she retreats to her cozy house in the city with her sister’s little girl, Lana. There, they’ll have normalcy, and maybe eventually, even happiness.

But Morgan’s the only living silver wolf. Her uniqueness—the ability to produce werewolf offspring—means, without Grey’s protection, she’s unknowingly put herself and Lana in deadly danger. Other werewolves want to claim her for their pack, and she’s the easiest, most tempting prey ever.

When they strike, Grey has to find her and rescue her before it’s too late. Not so simple a task; he has only the uncontrollable beast inside him, Wolf, and an unlikely pack of allies he’s forced to rely on. Can he get to her in time? And if he does, can he convince her he’s there for the right reasons, saving them both?

The first book in this series, Silver Wolf Clan, was a really good first book, or I should say novella, since it was pretty short. I completely enjoyed the read, so when I saw this book on Net Galley, I immediately knew I was going to request it in exchange for a fair and honest review.

In the first one, Morgan is on a camping trip with her sister, and her sister’s little girl. They are attacked by a wolf like creature, and her sister is killed. They are rescued by a man that is camping nearby, Greyson. He gets bitten, and runs away from the scene. Months later they meet again and that’s when she realizes what Greyson is now. As a werewolf, Greyson is something else entirely. Others call him a beast of a werewolf, and that means his wolf is able to take him over completely, and he’s much stronger then a normal werewolf. His wolf is just barely under the surface at all times, and can even come out when Grey is in human form. He’s actually pretty scary at times, and is a stronger alpha then any of the others that exists.

Morgan is hopelessly in love with Grey, so when he proposes, she accepts. Almost immediately, misunderstandings ensue, and the couple separates. This is the story about what happens after they leave each other. Morgan is now a werewolf as well, and is a rare silver one. She is coveted by other werewolves, as she is the only female one in the world, and can be bred with-unlike other females werewolves.

The reader pretty much already realizes that there is going to be problems due to how rare Morgan is, so it came as no surprise what transpires in this book. It brought about lots of suspense and bloodshed, for both the villains, and the good guy(s). So while I did enjoy the premise of the book, I just wish that there would have been a bit more of the book with Morgan and Grey together. Even more of the problems might have made for a better book. I found it to be a really short read, and I just wanted more.

The characters of Morgan and Grey are not one dimensional by any means, Grey in particular. Now that he’s a werewolf, he is fighting a lot of demons within his own body. He almost has an inferiority complex-except his wolf totally thinks he(the wolf) is the best. Morgan is ready to think the worse of Grey, and I didn’t like that. However, all of this carried the story to it’s conclusion so that was good with me. The character of Marissa has a big part in the story as well. She’s thirteen, lives with the pack that Grey is friends with, and has her own horrible back story. I found her to be one of the best characters of this series, and hopefully before the series is over, she will have her own story told, as a grown up.

This novella, as with the first one, has no sex involved. So I can recommend this to older young adults, probably 15 plus, due to some extreme violence. I think it would have been more realistic with some sex, even implied sex, would have been more real. However, the story was well written, and interesting enough that I could get beyond that, and I did enjoy the read. I am looking forward to reading the next one, due out in June of 2015.
