This tale was more on par with what I've come to expect from this series; Elliott James' humorous writing style was more in evidence, and it also provided a few tidbits about the protagonist's past that went a long way in connecting it with the actual books. DOG-GONE was the first short that actually felt somewhat like a prequel! I enjoyed the author's interpretation of Death Hounds, and the necromancer elements were intriguing too.
